Mike Cooke
I gained a Fine Art (Painting) degree followed by a PGCE at Liverpool, and an Advanced Education Diploma at Keele.
I enjoyed a teaching career in Cheshire schools, many of them as a Head of Arts Faculty and also Senior Teacher. I also served as a Chief Moderator for Art and Design. Throughout those teaching years I continued to paint, contributing to both solo and group shows, and my work, both independent and commissioned, is represented in private collections in the UK and Portugal.
I am pleased to say that I am also a member, and currently honorary secretary of C.A.N
( Cheshire Artist Network) and am proud to feature in group shows.
Recent, current and forthcoming shows include The Willow Gallery, Oswestry; Foxlowe Gallery, Leek; Hill Farm Gallery, Cheshire ;Grosvenor Art Gallery, Chester; Castle Arts, Frodsham; Gallery Q, Dundee.
My work is concerned mainly with landscape, in its many forms, and I have been fortunate to enjoy extensive travels in many countries, experiences which have enriched my work.
